An advanced form of MRI that visualizes white matter tracts in the brain.
This is done by the differences in behaviours of water in a unconstrained and constrained medium.

- Water moves in all directions inside constrained medium:
- Water is biased towards a specific direction
DTI measures how water diffuses in tissue. Water diffuses easier along axon bundles, hence revealing tracts.
